Bandages of Rapid Recovery These linen bandages have the same color and softness as the feathers of a dove, but their antiseptic smell suggests a less natural origin. Any creature wrapped in these bandages recovers from wounds and ability damage each day as if receiving complete bed rest regardless of activity (Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook 191). A creature actually receiving long-term care (from the Heal skill) or complete bed rest while wearing the bandages gains a +4 bonus to its effective level or Hit Dice when determining how many hit points it recovers each day. The bandages are destroyed once removed or when the wearer recovers all hit points and ability damage, whichever comes first.

Nightmare Tears Nightmare tears are a toxic alchemical solution that, when applied to the eyes, allows the individual to see past certain supernatural effects, as the spell true seeing. These include reality-warping effects such as those caused by the Plateau of Leng and spells or supernatural powers that create phantasms such as weird, nightmare, and phantasmal killer. The effect of the tears lasts for 1 hour.

Nightmare tears have horrific side effects – users suffer both temporary blindness and insanity. Immediately after applying the tears, the user goes blind for 1d4 rounds and looses 1d4 points of Wisdom until the tears wear off. However, if the user fails a DC 11 Will save, both effects become permanent.
Oil of Silence When applied to a one-handed or two-handed firearm, this strange grayish oil renders that firearm silent for 1 hour. Five vials of oil of silence can be used in conjunction to silence a Large firearm siege engine, and 10 can be used to silence a Huge firearm siege engine. The oil does not work on firearm siege engines that are larger than Huge.

Dr. Calliope Smythe’s classes have been cancelled this semester. Her sabbatical has been extended to an unknown date due to circumstances beyond her control.

My name is Calliope Smythe, Doctor Calliope Smythe as my PhD dictates. There is a rumor that I was born on the back steps of the United Terrous University because my father was so caught up in his research it was too late to get my mother to a midwife by the time he was ready to go. Since she left my father, Dr. Marc Smythe, and I soon after, there is a good chance it’s true. Being a good and logical man, my father did what he had for fifty years prior, he taught me everything he knew. When I finished learning all that he sent me to the other University Departments to learn everything they had to offer. So I was born, bred and up until last year I taught a general engineering curriculum at United Terrous University. I am well versed in many different topics my current PhD being in Mechanical Engineering but my Masters and Bachelors span from Pre-Ancient Philosophy to Justice Studies.

I went on Sabbatical at the start of last year with all intentions of doing some field work in my second favored subject. It turned out to be educational but none the less a bad idea. While looking over some early 2000’s preserved media one of my research assistants let out a scream and collapsed. Blood gushed from a wound on their side and then the others started screaming as well. The whole event is very much a blur but I do remember a small voice saying to me, ‘let him in, you have the strength to bind his will once he’s there’. At the time, it had been a cryptic message only made clear when Williams attempted to possess me instead of the Thrush he was currently terrorizing my group with. As the voice had explained, when his will met mine I could pin him to the back of my mind and hold him them. It created a bond between us, I know the emotions and general locations of him at all points in time and he can do the same. To make our lives easier because I would not let him go, Williams offered me new knowledge in exchange for some comforts and spell to allow him speak.

The first few months of having Williams in my head was not an easy time so I did not return to the university. Instead I took up residence outside of town and began learning what Williams had to teach me. It’s very interesting and I’ve already put my latest research into practice….I just hope no one from the University finds me before I have it all under control.
